One Proud Mama

Here's one of the best post birthday gift I received this month. I was contemplating at first if I should post...but I realized this is a first for me. I have never ever gotten these kind of grades in my entire life. Kaya please pagbigyan niyo na kong magyabang.Baka di na maulit.(hahahaha knock on wood)
Si Bianca talaga ang magtataguyod sa pamilyang ito! Go anak!I am so proud of you.

My daughter's first trimestral report card.

When I saw this, I felt like kneeling down where ever I was and weep for joy!
I never stopped thanking God that day.

And your real dad said "I love you and so proud of you"

Another Birthday Thing

Another of the birthday series...pero di ko birthday. The birthday of my friend's son. check out the pictures...Just something Kat-ab and I had fun doing to de-stress.

What I Did Today

I took a vacation leave today. Taking a leave from my work is like a solar eclipse that only happens once in a while. As in as rare as a human visits the moon.Ganun, kahirap ang proseso but today I had to take one because my daughter had her "Field Demo". A " Field Demo" is an activity you do in elementary and highschool where in you dance with props and colorful costumes which will be a part of your PE practical test. Unfortunately, I was late. In other words, I was not able to watch her but her teacher-in-charge promised me that she will give me a copy of the video.Oh well, just got to look at the brighter side. I saw an old teacher, Mrs. De Guzman. She was my Filipino teacher when I was in Gr. 4 and now my daughter's Social Studies teacher. I also saw a college friend and a batchmate (my original batch,if you know what I mean. I was also able to spend a few hours with my good friend, Mia. Who kept me company while waiting for my daughter to be dismissed. No regrets, all is well and done. I was just glad I was able to take the day off and it was worth it.I read in a passage written by Ralph Marston. It says,
"Today is real and today is now available for you. Bring it to life in your own special way."

what are you waiting for?

Here are some pictures I took after they performed. At least I was able to get some...:)

The field demonstrator.
Bianca and her best friend, Rocio since preschool. Cuties!

All messed up and sweaty but still a cutie to her mother's eyes.lining up to go back to their classroom.

A face only a mother could love.

I'd also like to thank Teacher Pao for making these pictures possible.

The Teacher

My grade 4 Filipino teacher is now my daughter's Social Studies teacher.

Another reason...

My birthday was only a few days away when I casually mentioned to my directress who happens to be one of my best employers I have worked with (no pun intended) that I'd be happiest if I would be able to blow a cake with the students but I want it given to me. Actually, I thought she'll relay it to my hubby. Anyway, she did it herself. During circle time, as the kids were getting ready to go back to the classroom. she surprised me instead...

Some of the kids still get confused with numbers and inverts them.
So they thought I was 13!Yehey

The Birthday Dinner

I thought I almost lost it... some of us as we grow older, we get less excited every time our birthday comes. To some they would treat it just like any other day or maybe for some they get too sentimental and resort to deep thinking and analyzing that they become the saddest person on that day looking back at their should have's , would have's and things they regret doing in their lives. I ALMOST became one of them but God said, "No can be!" because when He created me, I was one of those whose lives he made EXTRA ORDINARY (hahahaha, nagbuhat ng sariling bangko!!!!pagbigyan nito na ko and please wala munang magrereact. )Read on and you'll find out why) For some reason this thought has always been stuck on my head and this has kept me going inspite of the odds and ends in my life. Don't have to go into details because I am sure my friends has heard a lot. However, I have never really taken it against anyone or anything for that matter. But, you know I was thinking if I had my life all over again, I'd stii have it the same. God spoiled me...inspite of the other unfortunate circumstances, I still consider myself lucky.
I am lucky because of these reasons:

  • I have a very supportive and loving mother who inspite of her bitter feelings have tried to understand and accept me for what I am.
  • I have a brother who UNCONDITIONALY loves me and my family.
  • I have a partner who is trying his best to make this relationship and family work.
  • I have a daughter who is beautiful, creative and smart. (suwerte siya nagmana siya sa kin!:)
  • I have a job I don't want to call a job because it makes me happy and makes me feel accomplished.
  • Our family has managed to stay sane even if we are all away from each other and tries our best to make it work.
  • Everything has begun to fall in their rightful place and just awaiting others..
  • God always gives me reasons to be thankful for.
  • God has always protected me from all negative forces even if sometimes I choose to do what is not right and puts back all the missing pieces together and makes it just right.

Last but not the least...

I am lucky because He has forevermore surrounded me with extraordinary FRIENDS...who have become one of my greatest blessings, who appreciates me for what I am and what I have become, who always understands me and respects my decisions. who gives me their thoughts but is not pushy. They are also the ones who have inspired me to become better each day.

Let me share with you some pictures taken during the THE BIRTHDAY DINNER (co-celebrants are also KAT-AB and PAT)

Here's the food:

Pancit Palabok
This was not suppose to be included in the menu but my friend Krisan suggested that we have noodles. As she said, No birthday celebration is complete without noodles for long life.

Kare-Kare
My all time favorite dish.
Lumpiang Sariwa

This dish is very special to me. My dad passed on the recipe to me on the last time we were together. My dad said "I shouldn't share the recipe" (hehehe) Family Secret daw to. The night he taught me this and other recipes like Embutido" and "Maja Blanca" (take note:all in one night) was my last bonding experience with my dad. That's why this is just not any lumpiang sariwa to me...

Buttered Garlic Shrimps
Bought by Kat-ab and ordered by Pat. Of course, Shrimps are shrimps. Simply Delicious. Even my picky eater, Bianca loves shrimps.

And for the night's finale, Cake brought by Pat from Aggie's that sinfully melted in our mouths, tummies, arms and legs. No regrets. Should i say more?

My birthday won't be complete if I did not celebrate it with these people. Sayang nga lang Aries and Sunny couldn't come. Hmmmppp.

Teacher Pat, Bianca and Teacher Mia

Pat, Me,Mia and my mom-Katab
John-my long lost friend (kaya touch ako at pumunta and nagstay siya) Hert-my ever crushing, Kerwin-love ni Ria and Ria- the girl I used to sleep with.

Eto ang Tequilla na ikinalasing namin (bwahahaaha...)

Can't wait for my next birthday because,
he said I'm sorry I can't make it. I am out of the country.
Next year na lang!Promise.

Birthday Night Cap

My eyes are already droopy and almost about to close by itself but I couldn't help writing just a pre-birthday post before I shut them. However, I shall write more in the next days to come...but just wanted to say that this year has been one of my memorable birthdays...simple but complete and full of love from people I value the most. (sighs and smiles)

SIMPLE

I think its summer here in Manila this September.Super Hot! I took a short walk to the store from the school just about 50 steps but I already felt the ultra violet rays of the sun already in my dermis. I think this is really something else...Too much GLOBAL HEATING not WARMING na talaga. I won't be surprised if the next day I wake up and see snow outside my window. (hahahaha) Anyway, my day is just like any other day...RUSHED! multi tasking galore. But you know the start of the month has been really full of blessings. Sarap talaga kapag birthday month!Yup, My birthday is coming up and I am excited. Usually, my birthday month is always a happy month for my family. In fact, its already starting.
last night I opened my mail and read an interesting forwarded email and I'd like to share it with anybody who might stumble. Here it goes, maybe you can always keep these in mind and find yourself a million times unburdened by the everyday hustle and bustle of things.

  • Take a 30 minute walk everyday and smile.
  • Sit in silence for about 10 minute each day.when you wake up in the morning say this statement" My purpose today is..."
  • Live with the 3 E's: Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy"and the 3 F's: Faith, Family and Friends"
  • Spend more time with the people over 70 and age 6.
  • Dream more while you are awake.
  • Try to make at least 3 people smile each
  • day.
  • Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn, pass all your tests.
  • Smile and Laugh more it will keep the energy vampires away.
  • Life isn't fair but its still good.
  • Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
  • Don't take yourself so seriously, No one else does.
  • You don't have win every argument. Agree to disagreements.
  • Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, don't save for special occasions.Today is special.
  • No One is in charge of your happiness except you.
  • Forgive everyone for everything.
  • Time heals almost every thing. Give time time.
  • However good or bad a situation is, everything will change.
  • Your job won' t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in Touch
  • Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
  • The best is yet to come.
  • believe
  • No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
  • Do the right thing.
  • Call your family often.
  • Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: Today i accomplished...I am thankful for..."
  • Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
  • Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney world and you certainly don't want a fast pass. Make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

Sometimes as much as we don't want to complicate our lives, we find ourselves in the same rut all over again. Sometimes the simpliest things we can do are the hardest thing to do. Don't you agree?
